Job Summary
The Crane & Forklift Operator is responsible for maintaining the flow of material throughout the facility by unloading inbound material, loading deliveries, organizing inventory, loading material on production equipment, and supporting loading activities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production team have the material they need while maintaining safe, efficient, and organized inventory areas.
Working close with the Production Lead hand, Machine Operators, and Shipping & Receiving personnel, the Crane & Forklift Operator will utilize overhead cranes, and forklifts to move material throughout the facility. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.

Job Duties
- Safely unload inbound material deliveries using overhead cranes and forklifts
- Verify incoming material and place inventory in designated storage locations
- Maintain organized inventory areas to ensure material can be located quickly and efficiently
- Assist with inventory organization, housekeeping, inventory counts, and stock rotation as required
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged material, or safety concerns
- Load production equipment with material to maintain continuous workflow
- Coordinate material movement to support daily production requirements
- Work closely with production personnel to ensure timely delivery of required material
- Assist with material staging and movement throughout the facility
- Assist with loading customer orders onto trucks safely and efficiently
- Stage empty trailers in the loading bays
- Support front-end loading operations and provide general crane coverage as required
- Perform daily inspections of cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
- Record and report defective equipment or maintenance concerns
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, shipping staff, and other team members
- Support operational requirements and assist in other areas of the facility as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- Experience operating overhead cranes and/or forklifts
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, moving, and handling materials up to 50 pounds
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety
- Industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, or steel industry experience considered an asset

Pay: $24.00-$27.00 per hour
