Are you ready to take on a stimulating and impactful challenge? Look no further: VIA HFR is looking for a Database Developer. We are seeking a knowledgeable and driven Database Developer with a background in SQL and data warehousing to support our enterprise level systems.
The role
This role requires the ability to collaborate with business users and analysts, ensuring that our data solutions meet organizational needs while driving impactful results.
The responsibilities

Design and implement robust data pipelines using a medallion architecture for efficient storage and retrieval.

Extend SharePoint functionality with forms, web parts, and application technologies.

Develop and maintain Power BI reports.

Engage directly with clients to lead the implementation of analytics solutions, ensuring a successful user experience.

Manage structured, semi structured and unstructured data sources.

Perform code reviews to ensure fit to requirements, optimal execution patterns and adherence to established standards.

Manage O365 technologies (Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform and SharePoint).
Technical Skills
-
A solid understanding of Data Architecture best practices, including data modeling techniques, design principles for data warehousing and lakes, and strategies for data integration and lifecycle management to build robust and scalable data ecosystems.

Knowledge and experience in implementing Data Governance best practices, including developing and enforcing data policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security, while promoting compliant data usage and management.

Proficient writing SQL queries and programming including stored procedures and reverse engineering existing process.

Proficient writing SQL queries and programming including stored procedures and reverse engineering existing process.

Strong knowledge of ADF, ADLS, Azure Sql database.

Understanding of AZURE DEVOPS.
The requirements

A degree in computer science or equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Data Engineering and/or Data Science.

Minimum 5 years of SQL Server based development of large datasets.

Minimum 5 years of experience with Power BI.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data warehousing with Azure, Synapse, Fabric.

Cloud certification(s).

Ability to attain or currently hold Canadian Federal Government clearance at the Secret level.
