Position Overview:
Do you love fashion and obsess over fit and technical details in today’s clothing? FXR is seeking a detail oriented and experienced Apparel Specifications Technician to join our team! In this role, you will work with the Design team assuming responsibility for technical aspects involved in the development of new products and designs. This includes evaluating fit, refining construction and features for prototypes and production. The Apparel Specifications Technician plays an integral role in the overall design process.
Responsibilities and Duties
The ideal candidate is detail oriented and an effective communicator with sound understanding of apparel design, fit, construction and quality. You take great pride in producing accurate, detailed specifications and working collaboratively with design and vendors internationally. You are driven and motivated and can deliver results, meeting hard deadlines. You are a cooperative team member who enjoys working as part of a strong team believing that together you can achieve more than you can alone. You love the thrill of building product for a world-class brand.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to prepare complete, detailed and accurate specifications for various types of apparel
- Familiar with textiles, construction techniques, garment measurements, grading charts
- Well organized and self-motivated with ability to keep on schedule and complete projects in a timely manner
- Work well with designers and product developers to establish a sound understanding of product direction and objectives
- Deliver creative solutions to assist in achieving team or corporate goals and objectives
What you bring to the team:
- Degree, certificate or diploma in Clothing design or related program
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Illustrator
- Related apparel industry experience would be a strong asset
- Production experience considered an asset

This position is based at FXR’s global headquarters in Oak Bluff, Manitoba, just 10 minutes from the city.
