Overview:
Term: 18 Month
The Financial Systems Associate provides accounting and system related support to the various financial systems. The Financial Systems Associate works closely with other members of the Financial Systems team to support data maintenance, testing for planned updates/upgrade, and provides tier 1 support to end users.
Responsibilities:
Setup and maintain key elements in the financial or finance-related systems
Effectively apply knowledge of university policies and procedures and other published guidelines when maintaining accurate financial systems records, which include:
Receiving, reviewing, and actioning user creation/maintenance requests for various financial systems
Receiving, reviewing, and granting/removing user roles and access requests for various financial systems
Creating and maintaining work orders based on approved requests, including any configuration related to interfacing work orders to/from external systems
Prepare data update/upload templates based on tasks assigned or information submitted in Jira Service Management service tickets and in accordance with established practices
Other data maintenance as required
Work with Finance team members and campus partners to maintain and address data integrity, completeness and quality issues related to data for which Finance is a steward
Identify discrepancies and communicate these to other Financial Systems team members
Assist in developing documentation related to the Financial System(s)
Document business processes demonstrated or shared by other Financial Systems team members
Develop and enhance training manuals and online tutorials and provide recommendations to improve end-user experience
Build FAQ documentation to populate the Financial Systems Confluence knowledge base
Assist in building and documenting a troubleshooting guide for the Financial Systems team
Assist in testing related to the Financial System(s)
Participate in functional and acceptance testing for planned system upgrades, configuration changes, and enhancements in various systems and system integrations
Assist in identifying test scenarios, developing and continually improving test scripts, and executing testing to validate the development and configuration of financial systems
Respond to user/department inquiries
Triage Finance help tickets. Resolve those under their responsibility and assign more advanced tickets to other members of Finance
Respond to various questions and ad-hoc inquiries from students, staff and faculty in a timely manner, ensuring a positive client experience and with the aim to exceed client expectations
Identify, investigate, and resolve data anomalies and discrepancies
Work with campus to ensure that University policies and procedures are understood and followed
Other
Provide administrative support, as required
Provide backup to other financial systems functions, as required
Participate in other department projects/assignments, as required
Qualifications:
Post-secondary courses, preferably in accounting or information systems, or equivalent education and experience
Experience working in an enterprise-wide computerized accounting environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Teams
Experience in a customer service environment is required
Experience with Jira Service Management and Confluence would be an asset
Excellent data entry skills and proven aptitude for attention to detail and accuracy is required
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage high-volume assignments accurately and efficiently
Knowledge of a financial ERP system, accounting principles and strong internal controls
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and listening skills
Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
Time management skills
High degree of discretion, judgement, sensitivity, tact and diplomacy
Works independently with a strong work ethic
Recognized as a team player who interacts respectfully and builds consensus
Vaccination Requirement Statement:
