Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented General Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting warehouse operations, including order picking, shipping and receiving, and operating heavy equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where safety, efficiency, and teamwork are prioritized. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are highly valued to ensure smooth daily operations.
Duties
Shop & Warehouse Support
- Assist in all areas of the shop, including machine operation support, assembly, hardware, and shipping.
- Assist in setting up work areas, equipment, and materials to support daily production activities.
- Prepare and stage components and hardware for upcoming jobs to minimize downtime.
- Support team members with changeovers and job set-ups to maintain efficient workflow.
Hardware & Materials Handling
- Organize hardware and maintain tidy hardware stations.
Cleaning & Workplace Maintenance
- Sweep floors in work areas and common spaces.
- Vacuum as required.
- Dust surfaces and equipment as directed.
- Take out garbage and recycling.
- Keep general work areas, including the lunchroom, tidy and clean
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, order picking, and load & unload procedures
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and other machinery
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes and safety protocols
- Experience with construction or heavy equipment operation is a plus
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Prior experience with warehouse management systems and order picker equipment is preferred
Education & Certifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Some experience with manual labour
Compliance & Training Requirements
· WHMIS (training course provided with onboarding package)
· Anti‑Violence / Respectful Workplace (training course provided with onboarding package)
· Valid Work Permit (if applicable)
· English language skills appropriate to the role
· Adherence to WorkSafeBC requirements, including recover‑at‑work practices
· Adherence to internal manuals and standard operating procedures
· Steel-toed footwear
Working Conditions
This work is 100% standing/moving in a factory environment. There is a 100% requirement for the ability to bend, twist, lifting floor to waist and waist to shoulder, pushing, pulling and repetitive movement. Standing is required all day, and while anti-fatigue mats are provided it is incumbent on the worker to ensure physical ability to work. There is some above head reaching but constitutes less than 20% of the work conducted.
Pay: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
