Duties
- Prepare and assemble a variety of deli foods, including sandwiches, salads, hot items, and deli trays for catering following established recipes and quality standards
- Slice meats and cheese etc.. to order
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions about ingredients, and offering upselling suggestions to enhance their experience
- Operate POS systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and order processing
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area by regularly cleaning counters, utensils, equipment, and adhering to food safety protocols
- Restock shelves and display cases with fresh products while managing inventory levels through proper food handling procedures
- Assist with bussing tables or clearing customer areas in café or quick service environments when needed
- Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple tasks in a fast paced setting such as food preparation, and customer assistance
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, deli operations, or a quick service/fast food restaurant environment is preferred but not required; culinary experience is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and clear communication abilities
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks safely
- Experience working in retail grocery stores or food industry settings is advantageous
- Reliable and punctual
- Must be avaiable for some evening shifts and some weekends.
