Job Overview
An Ocean Export Coordinator manages the end-to-end maritime shipping process for freight forwarders or logistics companies. Responsibilities include creating bookings, negotiating freight rates, preparing export documents (e.g., Bills of Lading, customs declarations), and tracking shipments to their final destination while ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Shipment Coordination: Open files, book cargo with steamship lines, and arrange drayage or trucking to the port.
- Documentation: Prepare and audit critical documents such as Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and export declarations (e.g., AES/CERS).
- Rate Negotiation: Quote freight costs to clients and negotiate competitive ad-hoc spot rates with carriers and overseas agents.
- Tracking & Tracing: Monitor vessel departures/arrivals, troubleshoot delays, and provide timely updates to clients and stakeholders.
- Billing & Auditing: Process client invoices, approve vendor/agent bills, and calculate shipment profit/loss.
Pay: $17.60-$23.60 per hour
