Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Carpenter Helper to assist skilled carpenters in various construction and renovation projects. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the carpentry and construction industry. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, dependable, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in related trades such as woodworking, handyman services, or construction is a plus but not required.
Duties
- Assist with reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to support project execution
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
- Aid in cabinet installation, flooring, tile laying, siding, roofing, and siding projects
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for various carpentry tasks
- Assist with woodworking projects including framing, finishing, and assembly of components
- Support restoration and remodeling efforts by preparing materials and assisting with surface preparation such as caulking and painting
- Help with plumbing and electrical tasks under supervision when necessary
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling to ensure smooth workflow on-site
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction concepts; previous handyman or woodworking experience is advantageous
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, or technical drawings is preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding conditions for extended periods
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards
- Willingness to learn new skills related to masonry, roofing, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, CNC operations, or other specialized trades
- Prior experience in construction painting or cabinetry installation is a plus
- Valid driver’s license is preferred for travel between job sites
