The successful applicant will possess a solid theoretical knowledge of clinical presentations, proven assessment skills, and experience providing clinical counselling services to individuals, couples, and families. An understanding of issues related to violence, poverty, and diversity, and a proven commitment to social justice is required.
Qualifications for this position include a Master degree in Social Work or Counselling or equivalent; registration with the OCSWSSW or CRPO; and two or more years of clinical experience. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team; excellent oral and written communication skills, and crisis intervention skills. Previous experience working with children / youth, employee assistance clients, and providing trauma informed counselling are definite assets.
The successful candidate will report to the Program Manager of Professional Counselling. This is a 28 hour per week permanent position, beginning January 6, 2020.
