Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation, and supporting various accounting functions using leading software tools. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where precision and analytical skills are essential for maintaining the financial health of the organization. The Accountant will play a key role in supporting budgeting, auditing, payroll, and financial reporting activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Perform account reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Maintain detailed bookkeeping records, including ledger entries and transaction documentation.
- Support auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and assisting with internal or external audits.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support budgeting activities by preparing financial reports and forecasts.
- Utilize accounting tools to facilitate financial services operations and improve overall financial management.
- Handling of T2 tax returns for each company as well as financial statements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping practices.
- Experience in corporate finance, auditing, payroll processing, and account analysis.
- Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting processes.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience working with accounting software platforms is highly desirable. This position provides a vital role within our organization’s finance department, supporting the integrity of our financial operations through meticulous recordkeeping and analysis.
- Up to date Chartered Accountant certification.
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
