The Inside Parts Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering outstanding customer service by responding to parts inquiries, identifying customer needs, and providing accurate, timely parts solutions. This role combines strong parts knowledge, sales aptitude, and system proficiency to support internal and external customers. The Inside Parts Sales Specialist plays a key role in driving repeat business through relationship-building, upselling, and cross-selling while ensuring inventory coordination and clear communication throughout the order process.
Monday to Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Respond promptly and efficiently to customer inquiries via phone, email, and internal systems.
- Identify customer needs and recommend timely, effective parts solutions.
- Provide exceptional customer communication to foster long-term relationships and repeat business.
- Use existing parts knowledge to guide customers toward the correct components and accessories.
- Upsell and cross-sell additional parts or related accessories when beneficial to the customer.
- Apply a basic understanding of mechanical functions to recommend appropriate parts solutions.
- Research parts specifications and compatibility to ensure accurate recommendations.
- Use inventory and ordering systems proficiently to locate parts and accurately enter customer orders.
- Coordinate with parts suppliers and internal team members to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Research and present alternative solutions for out-of-stock items or parts with extended lead times.
- Communicate promptly with customers regarding order status, delays, or alternative sourcing options.
- Suggest process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate closely with parts, service, and sales team members to ensure seamless operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support parts department and company objectives.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of parts, components, and accessories
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong sales, upselling, and cross-selling abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy in order processing
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to offer alternative solutions
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Experience, Training, Certification and Education:
- 3+ years of experience in inside sales, parts sales, or customer service, preferably in heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial environments.
- Journeyman Parts Technician certification or equivalent experience an asset
- Experience using inventory management, ERP, or POS systems
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record
Working Conditions:
- Warehouse-based role with physical labour and exposure to heavy equipment
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors
- Occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs with mechanical aids
- Regular use of company vehicles for parts transport and delivery
- Standard business hours with occasional extended hours depending on operational needs
- Personal Protective Equipment required at all times
- Exposure to construction and industrial equipment
