Software Engineer – Full Time
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing team. You will design, develop, test, and maintain web-based software applications that support our customers and business operations.
You will collaborate with product managers, designers, business stakeholders, and other developers to turn requirements into reliable, user-friendly software. The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver who writes clean, maintainable code and takes ownership of their work from development through deployment and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications.
- Build and maintain front-end features, back-end services, APIs, and database integrations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Write clean, secure, well-structured, and maintainable code.
- Troubleshoot software defects, performance issues, and production problems.
- Create automated tests and participate in quality-assurance activities.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared development standards.
- Improve application performance, reliability, security, and user experience.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to our development processes.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation for applications, systems, integrations, and development workflows.
- Support software releases, updates, and ongoing product improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- At least two years of professional software-development experience.
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and experience with at least one back-end programming language.
- Experience with one or more modern frameworks or technologies, such as React, Node.js, .NET, Django, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience designing, building, or integrating REST APIs.
- Experience using Git or another version-control system.
- Working knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data structures.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases is an asset.
- Understanding of modern software-development practices, including Agile development, testing, code reviews, and documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing SaaS, mobile, or web-based business applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with DevOps practices, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of application security, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience with responsive application design and mobile development.
- Experience supporting deployed applications and diagnosing production issues.

Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Port Coquitlam office when required.
