Overview of the Opportunity:
This role will support the growth of KPMG’s Tax Transformation & Technology team in its ability to provide excellent client facing service to Canadian companies in relation to their process improvement needs. This role will involve working with tax departments on the improvement of processes and the implementation of technology, bringing together business understanding, process improvement and project management. In addition to understanding and documenting processes, this role will involve identifying areas for improvement and collaborating with KPMG’s technology team to manage projects and support the implementation of solutions for clients both external and internal.
What you will do:
Report to Manager, Process Improvement and support the delivery of process improvement projects across internal and external clients
Support multiple ongoing client projects from conception, assessment and through to delivery
Attend and document process improvement workshops to effectively identify, capture and document the required information from clients
Support the identification of recommendations and opportunities from client workshops, as part of a clear business case and proposal
Utilize effective Project Management skills for client projects, including the monitoring and update of a clear project plan
Maintain oversight of communication plans and support the management of multiple stakeholders from different clients and KPMG teams
Effectively track stakeholder expectations related to project scope, deliverables and timelines and identify risks to be flagged
Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
Support the internal team with proactive improvements and ad hoc requests as required
What you bring to this role:
Experience working on large projects from start to finish using project management principles
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Sound working knowledge of general business processes and organizational frameworks
Ability to quickly and easily build effective Process Maps
Ability to demonstrate innovation and creativity
Strong communication and relationship building skills illustrated through current or past work experience
Ability to work successfully with a variety of stakeholders
Ability to maintain professionalism in a variety of situations
High level of comfort with technology and learning new systems
Tax and accounting background beneficial but not required
LEAN/6 Sigma Certification beneficial but not required
University degree in Engineering, Business, or related experience
2 + years’ experience in Change Management/ Business Transformation / Process Improvement
