Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our supply chain team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing procurement activities, sourcing materials, and maintaining strong vendor relationships to ensure seamless manufacturing operations. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for optimizing purchasing processes, negotiating pricing, and supporting overall procurement strategies to meet production demands efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Source materials, equipment, and services required for production.
- Request and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
- Negotiate the best pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Issue purchase orders accurately and promptly.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company requirements and project specifications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Follow up regularly with vendors to confirm order status.
- Obtain and update Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) for all open purchase orders.
- Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, shortages, backorders, quality, and delivery delays.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and service.
- Meet regularly with Glass, Panel, Assembly, Processing, and Railing supervisors to identify upcoming material requirements.
- Review production forecasts and upcoming projects.
- Identify potential material shortages before they impact production.
- Expedite critical materials to prevent production downtime.
- Communicate material availability and delivery status to all departments.
- Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as required.
- Coordinate with Shipping & Receiving to verify deliveries.
- Investigate discrepancies between purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records.
- Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Compare multiple suppliers to secure the best value
Qualifications
- 2+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in manufacturing.
- Experience in aluminum, glass, or construction manufacturing is an asset.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $68,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
