Purpose of the Position:
The Accounts Payable Specialist oversees LMD’s full accounts payable cycle, ensuring timely payments and prompt resolution of vendor invoice discrepancies to maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendors and trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Process vendor invoices daily in MS Dynamics 365, matching them with corresponding POs and proof of receipt documents.
- Post credit card transactions daily, ensuring the GL reconciles with credit card statements.
- Record vendor deposits against approved POs accurately and on time.
- Process monthly employee reimbursement reports, ensuring compliance with company policy, correct GL expense coding, and timely payments.
- Log incoming invoices daily on the Monday.com Vendor Invoices board, updating A/P progress status until fully paid.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to resolve discrepancies, escalating unresolved issues as needed.
- Maintain high accuracy and timeliness in processing to minimize errors and avoid delays.
- Prepare, execute, and post payments, including checks, PAPs, and wire transfers.
- Address vendor inquiries, reconcile statements, and resolve outstanding credits.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all A/P transactions.
- Assist with month-end closing activities and reporting as needed.
- Provide support to the Senior Financial Manager as required.
Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and other accounting software.
- Accredited college or university degree in accounting.
- 1-3 years of accounts payable experience, with a strong understanding of A/P processes.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
