Salary negotiable based on experience, training and number of days worked, plus a comprehensive benefit/pension plan and the Northern Living Allowance.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build staff capacity (teachers, educational assistants, LAC teachers, administrators, etc.)
- Formal and informal screening and/or assessment as required
- Create treatment plans
- Attend parent meetings to implement, review and report on the child's progress
- Monitor progress of children on caseload
- Supply appropriate resources such as visuals, etc.
- Assist teachers and educational assistants in providing developmentally appropriate practice
- Maintain an inventory of materials, assessments, and supplies
- Maintain appropriate, confidential records, and provide timely reports (complying with standards of Alberta Learning and ACOT)
- Meet with school teams
- Provide in-service and professional development as needed, including both staff and parent support
- Communicate with supervisor
- Support Occupational Therapy Assistants (OT EAs) and manage their caseloads
- Liaise with the local health authority to coordinate services and transition caseload(s)

Qualifications
Completion of a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
The successful applicant must be registered or eligible to be registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapy Association (ACOT).
Strong team and interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a trans-disciplinary environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage caseload in a timely and effective manner. This position follows the local School Division calendar - 205 days.
A vehicle, and ability to drive is necessary as the caseload involves several different schools within the Division.
