We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Security Alarm Technician with specialized expertise in DSC (Digital Security Controls) platforms to join our field team. In this role, you will serve as our primary technical expert for configuring, troubleshooting, and commissioning commercial and residential intrusion systems.
This position goes beyond basic installation; we are looking for a skilled professional who is fully independent with DSC hardware (including PowerSeries, Neo, and Pro lines) and takes pride in delivering neat, flawless workmanship. Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2–4 years of proven experience as an alarm technician or low-voltage specialist in the security industry.
- Technical Skillset: Strong, independent proficiency in wiring, programming, and troubleshooting DSC panels is required. Familiarity with other major brands (e.g., Qolsys, Honeywell) and basic CCTV/networking setup is highly preferred.
- Licensing & Background: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a criminal background check to secure or maintain a security technician license.
- Tools & Principles: Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical principles, circuit testing, blueprints/schematics, and the proper use of hand and power tools.
- Physical Demands: Comfort working on ladders, in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces), and the physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Professionalism: Strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to maintaining clean job sites.
Duties
- System Programming & Commissioning: Configure, program, and test commercial and residential intrusion alarm systems, with a strong focus on DSC platforms (including PowerSeries, Neo, and Pro) and integrated systems like Qolsys or Honeywell.
- Installation: Wire and mount control panels, keypads, power supplies, sensors, CCTV cameras, and low-voltage life-safety devices according to building schematics and blueprints.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including ground faults, low-voltage wiring problems, and hardware communication failures.
- Network & Cellular Integration: Set up, register, and integrate IP and cellular communicators to connect security systems with interactive monitoring networks and platforms like Alarm.com.
- Client Handover & Training: Educate end-users on system operations, features, keypad codes, and mobile application usage upon completing the installation or service.
- Documentation & Quality Control: Maintain neat wire management standards and accurately complete digital service tickets, equipment lists, and testing logs via the company app.
Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
