Position: On-Site QC Assistant
NutraLab Canada Corporation is one of Canada’s premier contract manufacturers of natural health supplements. We are seeking an On-Site QC Assistant to join our Quality team. The On-Site QC Assistant will support day-to-day quality control operations, including inspection, sampling, documentation, and verification of raw materials and finished products across all dosage forms and packaging formats. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented and passionate about product quality, compliance, and the natural health industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine on-site QC activities in accordance with approved SOPs, specifications, sampling plans, and GMP requirements.
- Collect and inspect raw materials, packaging materials, in-process products, and finished products as required.
- Perform or coordinate applicable testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished products in accordance with approved procedures.
- Verify samples are properly identified, labelled, handled, stored, and documented to prevent mix-ups or contamination.
- Perform in-process inspections and quality checks during manufacturing and packaging activities.
- Review test results and promptly report results that do not meet specifications or established requirements to the R&D and QC Manager and/or QA.
- Assist with OOS investigations, deviations, non-conformances, and other quality investigations as assigned.
- Perform routine checks of production, processing, and warehouse areas to support compliance with approved GMP requirements.
- Monitor applicable environmental, sanitation, and facility controls and report concerns to QA and/or the R&D and QC Manager.
- Work closely with Production, QA, Warehouse, and other departments to address quality issues and support compliant production operations.
- Promptly report deviations, equipment issues, material discrepancies, contamination risks, or other potential product-quality concerns.
- Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the manufacturing facility.
- Participate in training and cross-training as required.
- Follow all GMP, company quality, Health and Safety, and laboratory procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of quality control experience in nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, or food manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with GMP, in-process quality control, and sanitation practices.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment.
- Good communication and records-keeping skills, excellent attention to detail.
- While the role is mainly for a day shift schedule, the candidate must have the flexibility to be occasionally available on evenings and weekends to support production needs.
