Join Ledcor as a Drafter who will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining engineering drawings and technical documentation for our Oil Sands Project.
The role works closely with designers, surveyors, construction teams, and project stakeholders to develop accurate drawings and models that support project execution, construction, and operations.
The Project is a major oil sands mine development located north of Fort McMurray
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and revise engineering drawings, plans, layouts, and as-built documentation.
- Develop 2D and 3D drafting models using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other approved software.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, survey data, and field measurements.
- Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with Ledcor and client requirements.
- Coordinate with construction, and operations teams to address design changes.
- Perform quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage drawing revisions, document control, and technical records.
- Support construction and field teams by providing timely drafting updates.
- Participate in project meetings and assist in resolving design-related issues.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Design Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of drafting experience in industrial, mining, oil sands, energy, or heavy construction environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and related drafting software.
- Experience interpreting engineering and construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Conditions
- 14 days on, 7 days off, working 10-11 hour days. Overtime rates apply after 8 hours worked per day
