Status
Position Summary
To meet the needs of our growing Division, we are recruiting Supply Administrative Assistants for a paid training program designed to prepare qualified candidates for the role of Administrative Assistant in our schools.
Job Duties/Responsibilities

Manage frontline reception to maintain a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for students, families, staff, and visitors.

Provide a lead role in the coordination of office administrative functions.

Implement and maintain administrative systems and procedures.

Maintain financial processes and assist with budget planning.

Maintain the student information system including coordinating new registrations, student transfers, pre-enrolments, and demographic data management.
- Prepare, edit and format correspondence, documents, reports and publications.

Maintain and upload information to various websites and Division programs.

Coordinate student transportation and processing monthly bus fees.
Assist with the coordination of school related events.

Education/Qualifications
-
completion of a two-year post-secondary training program
-
a minimum of two years of administrative experience
-
knowledge of accounting principles and practices
-
solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
-
demonstrated ability to convey information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
-
ability to apply calm, effective verbal strategies to diffuse challenging situations
outstanding customer service, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
-
Rate of Pay
$23.58 - $25.34 per hour
About What We Have to Offer
Commencing November 18, 2026, the Administrative Assistant Training Program will include classroom learning, as well as a hands-on practicum experience under the guidance of a highly skilled, school based administrative assistant. Through coaching and mentoring, participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of the position, Division policies and procedures, Division software programs and school office procedures.
Nature of Work
Following successful completion of the training program, participants will be eligible to accept temporary assignments through Supply Services.
Supply Services offers:

hourly, on-call work - up to 7 hours per day (Monday – Friday)

long term part-time and full-time assignments

eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions
-
a comprehensive benefits package for staff in long term assignments beyond 25 working days in duration or who gain permanent employment
Those interested should be prepared to travel to various schools throughout the city of Edmonton.
