We are seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our established accounting team. This existing position plays an important role in supporting the day-to-day accounts payable function by ensuring the accurate processing of vendor invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, maintaining organized records, and assisting with other accounting duties as required. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations while supporting Hakim Optical's continued success.
About the Role
The Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices and payments while supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting department. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Code and process accounts payable invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform data entry of invoices and related accounting information.
- Reconcile vendor statements and accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoices and payment status.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems for accounts payable documentation.
- Assist with month-end accounts payable activities.
- Perform filing and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support the Accounting team with other ad hoc accounting and administrative duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field is an asset.
- Previous experience in an account payable or accounting support role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
