Position Summary

As a core member of the Marketing Team, you will focus on developing innovative, creative and strategic design solutions for all print materials as it relates to the trade show and conference industry. You will have specific responsibilities and accountabilities in working towards outstanding delivery of B2B marketing strategies and communications for the Construction and Real Estate markets including The Buildings Show and Canadian Real Estate Forums. Applicants must understand the demands and requirements of working in an environment with competing projects and non-negotiable deadlines. As such, we are looking for a multi-faceted candidate, who excels in a team environment, to deliver against a common objective.

As Informa Market’s Graphic Designer, Real Estate & Construction, your role will be to take a creative lead role in shaping the visual presence and design of all print materials from design concept to press approval and execution. Specifically, your abilities and experience should include, but not be limited to:

  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced corporate environment, all while managing priorities and meeting strict deadlines with efficiency and accuracy - a must.
  • Managing workflow and prioritization including obtaining project briefs and proofing.
  • Design conceptualization, creation and management of print promotional materials including invitations, leaflets, brochures, advertisements, signage, show guides, etc.
  • Prepare art worked files, proofs and mock-ups for print and manage the relationship with print vendors and ensuring to track and project manage all timelines, special instructions and requirements.
  • Develop design continuity across all print mediums, ensuring to follow brand guidelines and standards.
  • Participate in the overall department development of internal best practices, processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Programming to identify visual and communication gaps and streamline processes.
  • Participate in the planning and brainstorming with team members to develop new ideas for integrated communications.
  • Keep fluent and up-to-date with design trends and technologies.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • College or University degree in Graphic Design or related discipline.
  • 4+ years of design industry experience with managing multiple print campaigns simultaneously.
  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud programs especially Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Must have a design portfolio to showcase work experience and abilities.
  • Must have the ability to oversee prepress set-up process with printers and suppliers to ensure all are completed and properly managed in a timely manner.
  • Strong understanding of how to translate printed material into digital content.
  • Flexible schedule and able to work during off peak hours.
  • A proactive self-manager.
  • Previous relevant design experience in an event management, construction or real estate market an asset.
  • Fluency in English both spoken and written is a must.
  • French will be considered an asset.
