Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Houseman / Public Area Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our hotel’s public spaces. This role is essential in providing guests with a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in cleaning and custodial work, preferably within the hospitality industry, and possess a strong attention to detail. Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain lobby, public areas, washrooms, elevators, hallways, and entrances.
- Vacuum guest floor corridors and remove garbage from public areas.
- Receive, sort, transport, and distribute clean laundry to guest floors.
- Collect dirty laundry and move laundry bins to designated areas.
- Clean and maintain fitness centre, reception area, and service elevators.
- Assist with conference room setup, cleaning, and reset before and after events.
- Refill supplies, drinking water stations, and housekeeping storage areas.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and management instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned public areas throughout the shift.
- Follow hotel safety procedures and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Requirements
- Reliable and punctual with a strong attendance record.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.
- Ability to lift, push, and move laundry carts, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Previous hotel, housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience is an asset.
- Basic English communication skills required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
- Team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist other departments when needed.
Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
