The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager IT & Digital Strategy, the IT Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our IT infrastructure. The IT Specialist is responsible for handling the day-to-day full lifecycle of our Windows 365 environment, hardware, and software systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include:
- Office 365 Administration: Manage and maintain Office 365, including user management, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams. Ensure proper permissions and configurations are in place to support staff.
- Microsoft Intune Management: Deploy, configure, and manage devices (laptops, desktops, and mobile devices) through Microsoft Intune. Ensure devices are properly enrolled, updated, and secure, to support remote work.
- Hardware Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of IT hardware, including procurement, setup, deployment, and troubleshooting. Ensure hardware (computers, mobile devices, peripherals) is functioning and compliant. This includes purchasing and inventory management such as ordering new devices, managing repairs, and making informed decisions on home office equipment for staff.
- End-User Support: Provide troubleshooting and technical support for staff, both onsite and remotely. Address software and hardware issues, resolve system errors, and respond to user requests in a timely manner.
- Security & Compliance: Regularly review and monitor security protocols, including reviewing reports from Microsoft Defender. Set up and manage conditional access policies in Entra and Azure to ensure secure access to systems and data.
- Network Security: Ensure the organization’s IT infrastructure is secure by applying network security best practices, monitor for vulnerabilities, and enforce security measures such as firewalls, encryption, and multi-factor authentication.
- Documentation & Process Improvement: Create and maintain detailed documentation of IT processes, systems, and configurations. Proactively identify areas for process improvement and recommend solutions.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions that align with the organization’s overall goals. Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff.
Qualification & requirements:
- Degree or post-secondary diploma in information technology, computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of hands-on experience in IT support, administration, or management
- Advanced understanding of Microsoft Office 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Defender)
- Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions
- Strong understanding of hardware, including troubleshooting and maintenance
- Experience with IT security protocols and best practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide technical support to non-technical staff
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM’s is a plus.
- Basic scripting knowledge with bash, PowerShell, or python is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified IT Professional, CompTIA A+, Security+ etc.) are a plus.
Compensation and terms:
This would be a full-time, permanent position with an ideal start date of October 2024. We offer a salary of $61,000-$72,000 commensurate with experience, based on a 37.5-hour work week. After the probationary period, the successful candidate will be eligible for employer paid benefits.

This position is based in our office located in Vancouver, BC with a minimum of two days a week in office required.
