Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented person for Bookkeeping to assist the accountant across multiple companies. This person will manage our day-to-day, month end, quarterly and year end financial transactions and ensure the accuracy of our accounting records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and experience using accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day to day bookkeeping activities using accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage
- Record financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
- Maintain and update general ledger accounts
- Perform monthly reconciliation of multiple bank accounts and credit card statements
- Prepare quarterly HST payable schedule and timely payments to government
- Review entries for duplication or errors and make corrections as necessary
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Prepare the year end financial packages for external accountants
- Generate monthly internal financial reports for management to review
- Support audits by providing documentation and reports
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years in similar bookkeeping/ accounting type role
- Completion of college diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration or related field experience.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper in a similar role
- Proficiency with accounting software QuickBooks and Sage
- Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Knowledge of AP, AR and account reconciliation procedures
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and bank reconciliation accurately
- Maintain records with precision and accuracy
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team or independently.
- Highly organized and detailer oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast- paced, high volume environment.

Working conditions
Office work at a computer as well as occasionally going into warehouse manufacturing environments. Required to wear appropriate PPE while in the warehouse.

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
