Barwick Service is entering an exciting new chapter under new ownership and is working alongside Dimit Bus Lines to provide a full range of transportation and automotive repair services throughout Northwestern Ontario.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician or registered 310T Apprentice to join our team in Barwick, Ontario. What You'll Do
As a member of our shop team, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of heavy-duty vehicles, including school buses, commercial trucks, and fleet vehicles. Apprentices will work under the guidance of experienced licensed technicians while continuing to develop their skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, brake, steering, suspension, HVAC, and drivetrain systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
- Complete engine, transmission, and differential repairs as required.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure vehicles meet all applicable safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems using diagnostic equipment.
- Accurately document inspections, repairs, parts used, and labour performed.
- Work efficiently to minimize vehicle downtime.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians and management to ensure quality customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario 310T Truck & Coach Technician Licence, or currently registered as a 310T Apprentice.
- Experience servicing heavy-duty trucks, buses, or commercial vehicles is considered an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn (apprentices).
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities (licensed technicians).
- Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, air brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Valid Class G driver's licence (DZ or B licence considered an asset).
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Physically capable of lifting, bending, standing, and working in a shop environment.
