Accident Rehabilitation Centre (ARC) is seeking a Registered Psychologist or Registered Social Worker to join our established psychology and mental health team within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation clinic in Calgary.
This is initially a part-time, fee-for-service position, with the opportunity to expand toward a full-time caseload as the clinician's panel develops and based on mutual preference. The role may be structured as in-clinic only or as a hybrid combination of in-clinic and telehealth care.
About the Role
ARC specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals recovering from motor vehicle collisions and related physical and psychological injuries. Our mental health clinicians commonly work with patients experiencing anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, adjustment difficulties, chronic pain, concussion-related concerns, changes in function, and the broader psychological effects of injury and recovery.
Previous experience specifically in concussion care, physical trauma, or motor vehicle collision rehabilitation is not required. More important is an interest in working with this population and a willingness to become comfortable with the interaction between psychological, cognitive, and physical symptoms following injury.
You will be joining an established mental health team and working within a broader multidisciplinary environment that includes physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, kinesiologists, neuropsychology, and other rehabilitation professionals.
What the Position Includes
- Assessment and treatment of a varied adult mental health caseload
- Individual psychotherapy focused on recovery, adjustment, anxiety, trauma, pain, and related presentations
- Opportunities to collaborate with ARC physicians, neuropsychology, and other treating clinicians when clinically appropriate
- A gradual caseload build based on your preferred availability
- Flexibility to provide a combination of in-person and telehealth appointments
- Opportunity to transition toward a larger or full-time panel as your practice develops
- A supportive multidisciplinary environment with clinicians available for consultation and collaboration
Fully Supported Practice
ARC provides a comprehensive administrative team so clinicians can focus primarily on patient care.
Our administrative staff manage:
- Patient bookings and scheduling
- Billing and account administration
- Referrals and intake coordination
- Communication with insurers and other third parties where appropriate
- General clinic and practice administration
Clinicians are therefore able to focus on assessment, treatment, documentation, and collaboration rather than the day-to-day administrative requirements of operating an independent practice.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following professional requirements:
- Registered Psychologist in good standing and eligible to practise in Alberta; or
- Registered Social Worker in good standing and eligible to practise in Alberta, with appropriate training and experience providing psychotherapy and mental health treatment
We are particularly interested in clinicians who:
- Enjoy working collaboratively while maintaining autonomy over their clinical care
- Are comfortable working with patients whose psychological concerns may overlap with physical injury, pain, concussion, or functional impairment
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other members of a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Value evidence-informed, patient-centred care
- Are comfortable managing an adult psychotherapy caseload
- Are willing to develop familiarity with rehabilitation and post-injury presentations where this is not already an area of experience
- Demonstrate strong clinical documentation and professional communication skills
Experience in rehabilitation, trauma, chronic pain, concussion, disability management, or motor vehicle collision care is considered an asset, but is not a prerequisite.
Schedule & Practice Structure
- Part-time/Hybrid to start
- Opportunity to expand as caseload allows
- In-clinic or hybrid in-clinic/telehealth model
- Scheduling and preferred clinical days can be discussed based on availability
- Established referral stream and administrative infrastructure
Compensation
This is a fee-for-service position based on a competitive revenue-sharing model.
ARC provides the clinical infrastructure, administrative support, scheduling, billing, referral coordination, and multidisciplinary environment required to support the clinician's practice. Specific revenue-sharing arrangements will be discussed with candidates during the interview process.
ARC offers an opportunity to develop or expand a clinical practice within an established rehabilitation environment while minimizing the administrative burden associated with building and operating an independent practice.
Interested applicants are encouraged to submit a resume/CV along with a brief introduction outlining their clinical interests, current registration, and preferred availability.
