Overview:
Attention maintenance and repair enthusiasts! Are you prepared to keep a vibrant, fast-paced property running seamlessly? Holiday Inn Toronto International Airport is on the hunt for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our lively team. If you have a knack for diagnosing repairs, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring top-tier safety and guest satisfaction, we want you!
What you will be doing?
- Complete minor work orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, filters, light bulbs, patching vinyl, painting, repairs to pipelines, toilets, sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment, etc. Perform preventative maintenance duties as assigned.

Monitor efficiency of equipment and electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, guests entrance/access doors, television sets, lighting systems and makes minor repairs and/or replacements to ensure proper operation and maximum efficiency.

Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and counters. Paint and finish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, if needed.

Maintain front entrance area, parking lot and/or garage, and street entrance in a clean and presentable manner.

Assists in checking and makes minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets and sinks, kitchen and laundry equipment.

Follow procedures that ensure the security of inventory and assets such as tools, supplies, equipment, furniture, televisions, etc., replenishes supplies and inventory in a timely and efficient manner, and minimizes waste.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.

Securely handle tools and equipment, replenish maintenance supplies efficiently, minimize waste, and prepare equipment for the next day's shift.

Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, coordinate daily with other hotel departments, and report unsafe conditions to supervisors.

Follow safe work procedures, wear required PPE, comply with Occupational Health & Safety regulations, and participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
What are the requirements this role?
- 1+ year(s) of general building maintenance and repair experience, with a strong preference for experience working in large-scale hotels or resorts.

High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree, certificate, or formal vocational training related to building maintenance (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is highly preferred.

Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical systems, preventive maintenance procedures, and building equipment/hand tools.

Strong communication, attention to detail, and customer service skills to interact professionally with guests and hotel staff.

Solid reading, writing, and basic math skills to interpret technical manuals, document completed tasks, and order supplies.

Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, stand and move around the facility for long periods, and frequently bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and crawl

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including potential nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on property needs.
