Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable, hands-on Low Voltage Telecom & Security Technician to join our growing Calgary team. In this role, you will help install, service, and support telecommunications systems, structured cabling, CCTV, access control, intercoms, networking hardware, and cloud communications technologies for commercial and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and maintain telephony solutions. (analog, PRI, SIP, VoIP, and UCaaS platforms).
- Install, terminate, label, and test low voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, fibre, and RG6.
- Install and support CCTV, access control, intercom, and related security systems.
- Deploy and configure hardware such as IP phones, routers, switches, WAPs, and related devices.
- Troubleshoot system issues, complete repairs, perform updates, and document work completed.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, floor plans, and technical drawings.
- Maintain accurate records of labour, materials, service notes, and site activity.
- Follow safety standards and maintain a clean, professional work environment on every job site.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with clients, vendors, and team.
Required Qualifications
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Interest in telecommunications, IT, networking, cloud communications, and security systems.
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and remain motivated in the field.
- Experience with low voltage, security, telecom, networking, or related field work.
- Valid Alberta driver’s license and clean driving record.
- A reliable vehicle and basic tools.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to safe work practices and professional conduct on client sites.
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage, security, telecom, or structured cabling installations.
- Experience with Panasonic phone systems, including NS, TDE/TDA, and TVM.
- Experience with Avaya, Nortel, or NEC phone systems.
- SNOM DECT cordless experience.
- Nurse call, access control, CCTV, intercom, or security system experience.
- Networking knowledge, including IP addressing, routers, switches, VLANs, and wireless APs.
- Exposure to UCaaS platforms and cloud-based communications.
- Safety certifications such as WHMIS or Fall Protection.
