Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Canada. Based in our facility, this role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes and maintaining our commitment to quality and efficiency. The Maintenance Technician will play a key part in supporting our mission of delivering high-quality recycled materials.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing extrusion process machinery and material handling equipment (including forklifts), as well as performing additional maintenance duties as required to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Perform minor, major repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance activities on production machinery and material handling equipment.
- Inspect and test mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic components of production machinery and material handling equipment to ensure proper operation and reliability.
- Adjusting, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures.
- Assembling hydraulic components.
- Complete preventive maintenance (PM) activities accurately and on time, including repairs of forklifts and associated material handling equipment.
- Participate in the implementation of various improvement projects.
- Participating in and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) to identify underlying causes of equipment failures.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance calls.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records in CMMS or maintenance logs.
- Available to work as required with an “on call” component.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Job-Related Competencies
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with plastic processing equipment such as extrusion or injection molding machines is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and maintenance best practices.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting systems or CMMS.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns in a production environment.
Educational Qualifications & Experience Profile
- Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience in plastic manufacturing or related industries is an advantage.
- Training or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 25–50 kg when required.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and perform equipment repairs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated areas when necessary.
- Working Conditions and Environment
- Work is performed in a plastic manufacturing plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, heat, and moving equipment.
- May require shift work, overtime, or on-call support to respond to equipment breakdowns.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses is required.
- Fast-paced production environment requiring quick response to maintenance issues.
Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
