You know QuickBooks Online like the back of your hand. You can look at a messy reconciliation or a confusing Shopify payout and get to the root of it over your morning coffee. A 2-year cleanup (where the client's cousin's son "did most of the work already…") landing on your desk, or figuring out the best way to record sales from a new payment processor, lights up a part of your brain. You love turning chaos into a sparking clean balance sheet and P&L.
You have 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience. You've worked inside real client files, juggled multiple deadlines at once, owned the month-end close process, solved WILD transaction issues, filed GST/HST returns, set up integrations to make your work more efficient, and caught errors before anyone else did. You know the importance of documenting your processes, including little quirks and client nuances you uncovered that will make the next month easier than the last.
You're not looking for hand-holding or to learn bookkeeping fundamentals. You're probably already the person others come to with bookkeeping or CRA questions.
Maybe you want to grow into a role that is more client-facing, or runs quality control across the company, or that trains and manages a small team. This is where we see this role potentially leading in the next year.
If that sounds like you, keep reading.
You're tired of:
- Being underused in a role that only gives you repetitive, basic tasks
- Cleaning up avoidable messes because nobody documented the process properly
- Working with people who communicate poorly and expect you to read their mind
You want:
- A role where you own month-end from start to finish, with room to actually implement your process ideas
- Clear expectations, honest feedback, and a small team that communicates well
- A flexible, remote role with room to grow in hours and responsibility
- A company that values systems and initiative, and knows "the way we've always done it" isn't always the best way
About us:
Tiny Empire Bookkeeping is a women-owned bookkeeping partner for small businesses across Canada.

You will run cleanup and catchup projects, and setup new client QBO files, including necessary integrations and documenting new workflows.
You will be a go-to person for technical bookkeeping questions, assist with quality control reviewing other bookkeeper's work, and you'll document the processes you build along the way.
