Job Summary
We have an emergency and need an enthusiastic and experienced fishing guide to lead outdoor fishing excursions in from the rest of July through early September.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, enjoy teaching others, and provide exceptional customer service.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion for fishing while ensuring clients have memorable and safe experiences on the water.
You must have at least 5 years guiding experience on the west coast of BC.
Responsibilities
- Lead guided fishing trips, ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants
- Provide expert instruction on fishing techniques, equipment, and local fish species
- Manage time effectively to adhere to scheduled trip times and maximize customer satisfaction
- Communicate clearly with clients, offering guidance tailored to different skill levels
- Maintain a professional demeanor while engaging with diverse groups, including multilingual or bilingual audiences
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, and safety checks before each trip
- Foster a positive environment that encourages learning, teamwork, and fun during excursions
Experience
- Prior experience as a fishing guide or in a related outdoor recreation role is necessary
- Strong speaking and teaching skills to effectively communicate with groups of varying sizes
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business
- Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to manage groups responsibly and confidently
- Effective time management skills to coordinate multiple trips efficiently
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging with diverse clientele
- Demonstrated communication skills essential for clear instructions and safety briefings
