Pacbrake is looking for a Product Development Engineer or Technologist to join our engineering team and help us develop new products for automotive applications. Current projects span from automotive suspension kits to safety devices for the oil and gas industry to electronic controllers and phone apps for automotive applications.
Pacbrake is a medium-sized, family-owned design and manufacturing company conveniently located in the Gloucester Industrial Park off the 264th exit in the township of Langley area, BC just blocks away from Highway 1.
We are looking for an experienced engineer or technologist with a background in mechanical design, manufacturing, or electronics to join our team. We have a wide selection of projects on the go, ranging from electronic microcontroller development, air suspension systems on new trucks, emergency shut-off valves for diesel trucks, to engine brakes for global customers. The engineering team is working to solve these challenges and we are looking to grow with the right individual to fit our needs and culture.

Who you are —
Skills/attributes you possess:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in design and development of new products
- Experienced in designing process using Solid Works or similar parametric packages
- Capable to use engineering principals and mathematics to solve/simulate engineering problems
- Experienced with use of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis/managing project risks
- Organized – able to keep track of project deadlines, project statuses, costs, customer specification, as well as other project documentation
- Passion for all things automotive, hands-on experience working on/under vehicles
What would make you stand out from other candidates:
- Proven track record of taking projects to completion
- Able to conduct SolidWorks stress simulations and Goodman fatigue analysis
- Familiar with producing dimensioning drawings (GD&T)
- Experience with manufacturing, machining, and/or quality control tools and inspection
- Understanding tolerances and the cost of quality
- Familiarity with the ISO 9001 systems and gated design processes
- Ability to see through the noise and find clever solutions to problems
- Attention to detail, understand the importance of documentation
- Ability to follow instructions and stay focused on the critical path
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Desire to prove yourself and grow, willing to show your work, and receive feedback
