Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional guest services and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. This role involves managing reservations, seating guests, and maintaining smooth communication between the front of house and kitchen staff. A strong background in hospitality, food service, or customer service is preferred to deliver an outstanding experience for all patrons. The Host/Hostess plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their visit.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Micros POS or hotel management software
- Provide accurate wait times and answer guest inquiries with excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting area
- Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service flow
- Handle guest concerns professionally, resolving issues promptly to enhance customer satisfaction
- Assist with maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment in accordance with hospitality standards
- Support team members as needed during busy periods to ensure efficient restaurant operations
Experience
- Previous experience in guest services, serving, or hospitality is highly desirable
- Food service experience or restaurant background is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms is advantageous
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer interaction abilities
- Experience in hotel or restaurant settings will be considered a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attentiveness to guests’ needs
Pay: $18.25-$20.25 per hour
