The Reliability Engineer at Westpower will play a key role in helping sites improve equipment reliability and lower the total cost of ownership for their rotating and static assets. This dynamic position requires the Reliability Engineer to investigate and assess equipment issues, involving tasks such as collecting and analyzing operating data, conducting on-site field investigations and vibration studies, collaborating with external vendors, and performing routine monitoring activities.
Our Reliability Engineer will engage directly with clients, taking a hands-on approach to project execution, recommendation communication, and relationship maintenance. Education, Skills and Experience
- Mechanical Engineering Degree, or other related field.
- P.Eng, or E.I.T. working towards professional accreditation. Millwrights, T.T.’s and C.E.T.’s will also be considered for the position.
- Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of vibration analysis is an asset.
- Knowledge of general industrial process equipment and systems is a requirement. Specific pump, compressor, blower, turbine, and engine knowledge is an asset.
- Experience in a field environment an asset.
- Experience with a Motion Amplification Camera is an asset.
- Excellent modern computer skills required.
- Must be a self-starter, highly motivated and organized and requires minimal supervision.
- Must be able and willing to travel to site locations to conduct field investigations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for performing field investigations and vibration studies at customer’s work sites. This includes the technical scope, contractual, and safety specifications as determined in the scope.
- Responsible for communicating results and recommendations to clients, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Must be able to identify, troubleshoot and recommend solutions to problems and effectively communicate them.
- Assist in the research and development of new technologies, products, and services as required.
- Train customer personnel as required.
- Provide technical assistance to customers as required.
- Compilation of quotes and estimates for field service jobs and projects.
- All other job duties as required.
