Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our heavy equipment maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills to maintain and repair heavy machinery such as loaders, excavators, trucks and dozers This role requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met. Fluency in English and excellent analysis skills are essential for success.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty equipment and machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using schematics and technical manuals
- Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, pumps, valves, and control systems
- Maintain documentation of maintenance activities within CMMS software
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during all maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with team to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance
- Conduct analysis of equipment failures to identify root causes and prevent future issues
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or heavy machinery repair.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately
- Excellent problem-solving and analysis skills for diagnosing complex issues quickly
- Good communication skills in English for effective teamwork and documentation purposes
- Prefer fourth year apprentice, journeyman ticket is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards
- Must have own tools
