Job description
This is where you normally see a bunch of boilerplate stuff, that doesn't really give you any insight into what the job is ACTUALLY like. Most of those technical capabilities are below, but that's probably the easiest part for us to find. In short, this is not a glorified parts changer position, you're running a business within a business. One day you might be getting a part swapped at the track between practice & qualifying, and the next you might be installing our aftermarket parts on a Ferrari or Aston Martin.
We are looking for is someone to join our team either with a solid background as a technician, ready to take the next career step and get involved in something dynamic and engaging, or an apprentice with some time on the tools who is looking to take the next step and work towards their Red Seal.
Our Performance shop has two full time technicians who run the shop as a team. The successful candidate will spend a decent chunk of time on the tools, and that will range from regular service and maintenance on high end exotics, right through to repairing crash damage on GT race cars used at Area 27. You'll be responsible for managing customer relationships, and running our GT27 race program for 5 weekends/year. You'll be working with a wide array of vehicles, and the information & systems you need to diagnose, repair and upgrade them won't always be as readily available as in a dealership environment with full factory support.
You'll have the opportunity to help develop this part of our business, contribute to decision making, and be responsible and accountable for its success.
Do you have what we are looking for?
- Top applicants will have a red seal in Automotive and 5+ years applicable service
- We will also consider those with a solid background of 1-2 years automotive experience in an apprenticeship role
- Ability to diagnose and repair of automotive systems including Engine, Transmission, Brakes, Exhaust, Steering, Suspension, Tires, and Electrical.
- Basic Computer & IT Literacy and familiarity with OE and industry diagnostic equipment.
- A positive can-do attitude with the ability to problem solve issues with fitment of performance and aftermarket parts
- Own toolbox with full range of automotive-specific tools
- Eagerness to learn & share and knowledge collaboratively with other team members.
- Organized and able to assess & prioritize tasks in order to complete projects alone or with team members.
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other teammates and customers as required.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
- Hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Safety conscious with full participation in the safety program and all safety requirements, and contribute to its ongoing improvement.

- Hours of work are typically 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. off early enough to spend some much-needed time with family. Some weekend work required during race season May-October.
