Automoves is expanding, and our fleet is growing with it. We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to take ownership of a fleet of 20+ units — from the drivers behind the wheel to the vehicles themselves — as we scale our operations.
About the Role
As Fleet Manager, you'll be the person who keeps our fleet running safely, reliably, and efficiently as it grows. A year from now, you'll have built out a driver hiring and onboarding process that keeps pace with expansion, a preventive maintenance program that keeps vehicles on the road instead of in the shop, and a compliance framework the whole team can rely on. You'll report to our Operations Manager and work closely with dispatch and operations to keep fleet capacity aligned with demand.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily operations of a growing fleet of 20+ units, ensuring vehicles are well-utilized, properly documented, and available when needed
- Own driver hiring — from recruiting and screening through onboarding and ongoing performance management
- Build and manage a preventive maintenance program, including vendor and shop relationships, to minimize downtime
- Plan for fleet asset needs — replacement cycles, new unit acquisitions, and right-sizing the fleet as the company grows
- Own safety and regulatory compliance, including inspections, driver qualification files, and hours-of-service requirements
- Track fleet performance and cost metrics and report on them to leadership
- Be available for occasional after-hours or Saturday involvement (remote) when fleet issues require it
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, or a supervisory role in logistics
- Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance planning and transportation safety/compliance requirements (DOT/MTO)
- Experience hiring, training, and managing drivers
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the judgment to prioritize under pressure
Preferred:
- Experience managing a fleet through a period of active growth or expansion
- Familiarity with fleet management or ELD/telematics software
- Bilingual (English/French)
Compensation & Benefits
- $75,000–$85,000 annually to start
- Safety performance bonus
- Company benefits after 90-day probationary period
- Full-time, on-site at our Mississauga office, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
Benefits:
