Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced AZ Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. The AZ Driver will also be expected to handle heavy equipment and may assist with forklift operations and light automotive repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and freight vehicles to deliver goods to designated locations
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and compliant with safety standards
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, and tires
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Assist with loading and unloading freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary
- Conduct basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting if issues arise during transit
- Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules or delays
Qualifications
- Valid AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving and freight transportation preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation and heavy equipment handling is a plus
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Physical ability to load/unload freight and operate heavy machinery as required
