Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to support our busy restaurant team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, food safety, and teamwork, with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable kitchen experience and develop skills in food handling, meal preparation, and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to ensure cleanliness and readiness for use
- Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling tasks as directed by kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including counters, sinks, and storage spaces
- Support food service operations by organizing supplies and ensuring proper storage of ingredients
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards
- Help with general kitchen duties such as restocking supplies and assisting cooks during busy periods
- Ensure all work areas are safe, organized, and hygienic at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience in cooking, restaurant work, or food service is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills and positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50 pounds) when necessary
- Flexibility to work during peak hours including weekends or evenings if required
