Position Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced CNC Milling Machinist to join our team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC milling machines to produce precision parts that meet customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- CNC Milling Experience is a MUST
- Experience with oilfield work and dealing with close tolerances
- Solid understanding of machining principles as well as a great mechanical knowledge
- Ability to us all types of measuring tools while maintaining calibrations
- Knowledge of standard materials, tool and practices within a machine shop
- Ability to create and verify solid models to align with customer supplied drawings
- Can work individually and with a team from drawings
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily set-up and operate CNC milling machines (Mazak, Okuma and Quantum)
- Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality targets
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and CAD files
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
- Create strategies to have dependable cycle times and set-up times, while still being safety focused.
- Accountable for set-up sheet compilation, and maintenance
- Maintain machines and work area in a clean and safe condition
