The Role:
Canco is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Canteen Kitchen Supervisor. The Canteen Kitchen Supervisor is directly reporting to the Category and Program manager and is responsible for the daily operations of the production facility, to ensure timely supply of the product to stores. Maintaining food safety standards with all provincial regulations and company policies and to ensure cost effective operations of the Production Kitchen.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee all administrative paperwork: Orders, production, promotions, delivery schedules, pricing and payroll

Provides direction & guidance to Production Kitchen staff, drivers, lead hands on performance, training and positive discipline.

Ensure all employees are in compliance of corporate and provincial regulations.

Ensures all production kitchen facilities and equipment are maintained and in compliance including all preventative maintenance.

Holds Daily and monthly staff communication/learning sessions with leadership teams.

Implements the new product lines and creates strategies introduced by Category Manager & Corporate Chef

Supports recruitment and onboarding process and trains Production Kitchen staff using the appropriate tools (i.e. interview forms, reference checks, training materials and job aids).

Follows HR practices and procedures for positive discipline. Provides regular motivational and corrective feedback to employees as required.

Monthly business meetings with senior leadership.

Maintains and monitors all required food handlers’ certification/licenses for business and ensures all team members are current and compliant.

Attends weekly and monthly Category Manager’s and Market Communication meetings.

Liaison with field management to quickly solve concerns and issues with supply/production.

Quarterly store visits for quality assurance purposes.

Ensure food safety practices and all applicable requirements of HACCP and the SQF (Safe Quality Food) System are adopted and maintained. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of HACCP and the SQF (Safe Quality Food) System assuming ultimate responsibility for Canada.

Completes monthly kitchen QV (Quality Verification) and facility self-audits.

Develops and implements schedules and procedures for PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance), Emergency Response Maintenance programs and safety inspections.

Maintains safety and security of the facility, properly documenting incidents that occur.

Some heavy lifting may be required periodically.

Supports and verifies monthly inventory counts.

Completes yearly Facility planning on sales projection, budget and cost management.

Promote and enforce good hygiene and safe food handling

Provide direction, encouragement, and motivation to all production employees.

Excellent leadership, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.

Ability to coach, mentor, consult, manage, and influence change.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Corporate Chef
What you bring:

A college diploma is considered an asset.
-
Food Production supervisory experience is preferred.
Salary Range: $42,000.00 - $46,000.00
