Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented AI assistant Developer to support our oncology research efforts through the assistance of extraction and organization of data from scientific literature. In addition to data extraction, the candidate will collaborate with technical and research teams to assist in the development of an intelligent chatbot tool that helps users interact with oncology data on our platform more effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct systematic reviews of oncology-related peer-reviewed articles, clinical trial data, and medical literature.
- Populate structured templates or databases with extracted data.
- Annotate relevant sections of text using standardized ontologies (e.g., MeSH, SNOMED CT, or UMLS).
- Collaborate with clinical, data science, and knowledge engineering teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
- Assist in the design, testing, and training of a chatbot interface to facilitate user-friendly access to curated oncology information.
- Help define question-answer pairs and conversational logic using curated oncology data and literature.
- Provide feedback on the chatbot's performance and accuracy, especially in interpreting clinical and biomedical terms.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- Some understanding of oncology terminology, clinical research principles, and medical literature formats.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex scientific information.
- Understanding of tools such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and reference managers (e.g., EndNote, Zotero).
- Basic familiarity with chatbot platforms, NLP concepts, or AI-driven tools is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with literature mining.
- Familiarity with clinical trial databases (e.g., ClinicalTrials.gov, EudraCT).
- Exposure to data curation or scientific annotation.
- Python, R, or experience with chatbot/NLP frameworks (e.g., Rasa, LangChain, spaCy) is a strong asset.
- Prior experience with oncology research or pharmaceutical industry is a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
