Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, the accounting technician is responsible for updating and auditing the daily accounting activities for bookkeeping and reporting in the accounting system (Sage). He or she will also participate in the preparation of financial information for funding applications and investments, the evaluation process and the preparation of various financial analyses, recurring financial reports, budgets, projections and any related tasks.
Bookkeeping and reporting
The entry, update and review of all working papers, reports and ledgers support the accuracy and completeness of all accounting data in the accounting system (Sage).
Receive, verify and process invoices
Manage accounts payable, match, view and save invoices
Ensure the follow-up of requests from customers, suppliers and department heads
Ensures ongoing compliance of all investment processes and internal controls.
Active involvement in the internal control process (regulations, procedures and monthly and annual inventories).
Actively participate in the production of month-end reports.
Prepare bank reconciliations
Post payroll entries
Assist in business projects
degree in Accounting or Business
5 years experience, ideally in a small business
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both English and French
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
General knowledge and continuous knowledge of the accounting system (Sage).
Practical experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
Data entry and word processing skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
