SUMMARY:
The Night Auditor will assist each of our Guests in a friendly, efficient, professional manner in all Guest Services related functions. To maintain a high standard of service and hospitality at all times. Manage overall hotel operations and reconciliation/posting of all revenues on the late night shift. This individual will perform a variety of duties from Front Desk Agent to accountant and administrative. This individual should possess great knowledge of hotel operations, the surrounding geographic area and all hotel facilities. Comfortable being the leader and operating autonomously they focus on maintaining the look and feel of the hotel assuring it is fresh and ready for the next day.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure every guest is greeted and welcomed in a unique and personable way upon arrival.
· Confirming, at check-in, the method of payment and at check-out, that full payment has been made.
· Register guests and assign rooms, making every effort to accommodate special requests.
· Promote the Starwood Preferred Guest program providing recognition and benefits to all present members. Describe member benefits to non-members with the goal of enrollment.
· Assist in pre-registration and blocking reservations.
· Make room moves where appropriate and providing room tours upon request.
· Develop a thorough understanding of mailing procedures, message handling and emergency procedures, reservations, room rack, property management system, electronic key system, room locations, type and features of rooms.
· Stay up-to-date on room rates, packages, discounts, road directions, major attractions and common local destinations as well as services and facilities’ hours of operation.
· Process client payments according to procedure.
· Notify Housekeeping of late departures, early arrivals, special requests and day rooms.
· Complete bucket checks, balance and prepare individual paperwork at the end of the night shift.
· Handle safe deposit boxes in accordance with procedures.
· Answer all telephone calls and transfer calls accordingly internally as well as to guests.
· Report any unusual occurrences or requests to your Supervisors and Manager.
· Responsible for restocking and assuring overall cleanliness of Front Office area, Lobby and surrounding areas.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally
· Contribute to the element hotels Service culture striving to enhance the guest experience at every opportunity.
· Illustrate professionalism through positive attitude, spirit and leading by example.
· Anticipate customer needs with the ability to change goals and direction quickly.
· Perform any other tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in workplace.
· At least one year of customer service experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Self-motivated, friendly, upbeat, outgoing, mature person who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of computers and cash handling experience mandatory.
· Must be detail orientated and able to handle several tasks simultaneously.
· Eager to learn new tasks.
· Previous Front Desk, Switchboard, and Extensive knowledge of the hotel experience an asset.
* Previous Night Audit Experience an asset and Hotel PMS System Experience is preferred
