Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers to assist a wheelchair using adult. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence while delivering respectful and personalized care.
Availability
Seeking 3-5 days per week, 6-10 hours per day, and / or overnights.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support with medication administration following prescribed guidelines
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Help with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home care, home care, or hospice care is preferred but not required
- High sense of empathy
- Physical strength for moderate lifting and assisting with mobility tasks
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and medication schedules
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required
- Must be eligible to work on payroll in Canada
