Job Summary
Lumberyard employees maintain inventory and service customers. Employees are expected to greet and serve customers with a friendly attitude and be familiar with inventory, prices, returns and exchange policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Load and unload materials, fill orders, assist customers with purchased materials.
- Work with coworkers to ensure yard and warehouse is clean, organized and safe.
- Regular stocking and replenishment of lumber and other LBM materials.
- Conduct regular inventory counts.
- Build loads for delivery.
- Deliver materials to job sites and customers homes.
- Maintain vehicle maintenance records.
- Follow circle check policies and ensure all equipment is in safe working condition.
- Report company vehicle maintenance needs to superviser.
- Treat company property, vehicles and inventory with respect, care and safety.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Prepared to work in all types of weather.
- Ability to work co-cooperatively in a team atmosphere.
- Physical ability to be on feet for extended periods and handle heavy materials (shingles, drywall, patio stone etc.)
- Familiarity with LBM materials required.
- Yard experience and forklift training preferred but not necessary.
- Valid drivers license (G) with clean abstract required.
