NECO Community Futures Development Corporation (NECO CFDC) is currently accepting applications for a Bookkeeper/Administrator for a part-time with potential for a full-time permanent position. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Bookkeeper/ Administrator will be knowledgeable in Quick Books and other Office software programs. You will be joining a small team focused on helping businesses and organizations grow and thrive.
NECO CFDC is an incorporated not-for-profit organization governed by a regional volunteer Board of Directors, focusing on creating opportunities for entrepreneurs and pursuing economic growth in east Nipissing and east Parry Sound regions. We receive operational funding from FedNor but our Investment Fund has been built up over the years to assist SMEs in their start-ups or expansions.
The Bookkeeper/Administrator plays a key role in our organization, ensuring the day-to-day handling of all banking, bookkeeping and administrative services relative to the general office and the loan program.
The Bookkeeper/Administrator will keep the accounts of NECO CFDC in order, process monthly payables and bi-weekly payroll, monthly reconciliations, work with the auditors each year for the annual auditing requirements, monitor pre-authorized payments on a monthly basis, proceed with stage 1 collections as required, and ensure receipt of annual financials/insurance for all clients. The Bookkeeper/ Administrator will prepare monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors and attend board meetings as a resource person.
Qualifications:
· Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in business administration, accounting, bookkeeping, or related field
· Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in community development or financial role
· Experience in working within set budgets, project management, grant writing, KPI monitoring would all be considered assets
· Solid relationship and interpersonal skills related to Board of Directors, funders, coworkers, organization partners, the business community, and the general public
· Bilingual (French/English) competence is highly desirable
· Highly motivated, independent worker focused on high-value collaborations, strategic mindset, desire to bring new ideas to the table
· Some travel for conferences may be required
Salary and Benefits:
Part-time would be Wednesday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (21 hours), up to a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours), vacation, potential for pension and benefits after the 3-month probationary period. Starting pay at $$32K to 54K, dependent on part-time/full-time.
