Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive foot and ankle examinations to assess patient needs and diagnose conditions accurately
- Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate medication management, physical therapy, and surgical interventions when necessary
- Administer medications responsibly, including injections and topical treatments, ensuring patient safety and comfort
- Manage acute care cases with prompt response to urgent foot injuries or infections, coordinating with other healthcare professionals as needed
- Document patient interactions thoroughly using electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Collect and analyze data related to patient outcomes to support ongoing research initiatives and improve treatment protocols
- Provide education to patients on foot health, injury prevention, and post-treatment care, including home care instructions
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Podiatrist with current certification to practice medicine in your jurisdiction
- Proven experience in hospital settings or similar acute care environments demonstrating your ability to handle complex cases
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and treatment techniques specific to podiatric medicine
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner for efficient documentation and data management
- Familiarity with pain management strategies tailored for foot and ankle conditions
- Background in pediatrics is highly desirable for treating younger patients effectively
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations
- Experience in research activities related to podiatric health is a plus, supporting evidence-based practice efforts
