Overview:
Hexagon's Core Positioning Organization (HCPO), is looking for a Senior Project Manager and Team Lead to join a global engineering and manufacturing leader in tech that does cool stuff that matters. Reporting to the VP Engineering, you will work with a talented team of business and technical professionals to lead the planning and execution of a variety of technology products. This will include software development and systems/ solution development. Drawing on your high caliber project management (PM) skills and experience, you will also help shape our PM processes and best practices.
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager and Team Lead, your responsibilities include:

Management of a team of Project Managers, including:
-
Building career and development plans for all employees, supporting their growth and career aspirations

Performance management for the team – including timely and direct feedback

Championing improvement ideas from the team

Fostering an inclusive and positive work environment that brings out the best in all team members

Managing the team’s capacity versus the incoming project demands – building a plan that aligns with individual and business goals

Act as a primary reviewer of your team’s project plans
-
Program Management, including:
-
In collaboration with the Director of Program and Process Management, assess HCPO's ability to deliver the short term business needs and long term product roadmaps
-
Identify inter-project efficiency opportunities and facilitate resource conflict resolution to best meet the needs of HCPO organization

Report on the status of all projects to our stakeholders

Manage projects as an individual contributor with approximately 50% of your time
-
Influence the project management plans and ensure appropriate tailoring that balances all the business needs
-
Guide the project management team to ensure projects are delivered to the planned schedule, scope, cost, and quality. This includes mitigation and problem solving as required.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, both by identifying new opportunities and leading or assisting with implementations

Represent the HCPO team in the Project Management Community of Practice

Ensure timely and clear project communications with stakeholders, including the appropriate escalation of issues
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
-
BSc. in Engineering or Computer Science
-
10+ years of combined product development, project management, and people management experience
-
Proven ability to manage complex projects
-
Proven ability to motivate and inspire others to do their best work
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities, demands and timelines
-
Solid understanding of project management methodologies

Nice-to-Have:

Embedded software development experience

Functional management experience

Familiarity with GNSS receiver operation and design

Experience with safety or process standards such as ISO 26262, DO-178C, ASPICE

Experience with project management and collaboration tools like MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Jira, Confluence

PMP (or comparable) designation
